My day in the mountains

I went up to the mountains yesterday. It was really a nice day. I have been wanting to get up to the Elkmont/Jakes Creek area to shoot some of the beauty of that area. The shady streams and the mossy rocks make this area a little different than most rivers in the Smokies. The old cabins in the Elkmont area are really neat and it's a pity that they are falling into ruins and eventually will be torn down. It would be neat to go back 50-75 years to a warm summer day to see what was going on around here.
